A hobby that became more

Hobbies that are more then just hobbies!

Now that I think about it, this all began so long ago that I never thought at this time in my life, that my “projects” would bloom into something more than just a hobby and I am so happy to be sharing my work with the world! I have dabbled in so many craft projects that I cannot stick with just one, there is so many things to do and I enjoy them all. Even though I started cutting material and making doll clothes years ago at the age of maybe nine or ten, I never perfected my items, I would pierce the doll ears and try to change their looks, but at such a young age I had no clue of the chemicals and materials available today to do just that. I have always been interested in miniatures from dollhouses to dolls to doll clothes and accessories. So, I started re-rooting dolls hair, then I started repainting the faces just for fun. I was proud of my work because it was just for me. I started posting pictures of my girls on social media and got some really good responses! Then, I started getting questions about how much I was charging, which was nothing at the time because I didn’t want to sell my girls, but the requests were coming more frequent. My Son finally convinced me to start this website which I have been working on for a couple of months now and it has been a challenge. So, my goal is to now generate an income so that I can devote all of my time to my website and work from home. At this point, because I have been just making things and not selling them, I am flooded with doll things and materials to work with, and I need to clear them out as fast as possible.

MAKE THE BAD DAYS GOOD

MAKE THE BAD DAYS GOOD!

So, I don’t claim to be the best at what I do, but I do enjoy every minute of what I do. I don’t care if it’s just cutting crafting foam sheets, yes, I enjoy that too. I love to craft in resin, sewing, clay crafts, painting, re-rooting dolls, repainting faces and creating scenes to take pictures of…this is how I ended up here. I post my work out of fun, crafting helps me to let go of the outside world and create my own in my dolls. They are not perfect; I make mistakes but that does not stop me from coming up with new ideas on how to display my work. There have been days when I have no ideas and no energy to craft but when I start working, I have to keep checking the clock to make sure I get a nice amount of sleep for work. Crafting is my Life!!!

No space to play

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Blog Post Title Four

It all begins with an idea.

Well I haven’t been here for awhile and I truly miss working on my projects and this website. I have been back in school lately and don’t have anytime to work on crafts and now I feel guilty for not having time for the website. So on this day I decided to blog something. What is it that is important to me right now is finishing up this course, getting certified and possibly continuing my education, maybe. As you know, the majority of my products are handmade, most of it is made to order. I know I don’t have the most exciting site right now and I apologize for that, for I am in this for the long hall and I want to do all that I can to see it come alive. I am proud of me so far and quitting is not an option for me. I love what I do because it takes me away from many down-falls and dark places in life. So I sew when I feel like sewing, I dabble in resin when I feel like dabbling in resin, and when I want to use clay, I play with that too. I don’t want limits when there is so much to work with and all of it excites me but for now I must concentrate and focus on what is keeping bread on the table. With that being said, I wish everyone happy holidays until I return!
